hi, I am Pareshi and this is my journey of curiosity and creation

My love for science and art started early, as I created cool and fun projects in school. I was constantly tinkering with gadgets in my house like TVs, music players, and satellite boxes. Growing up on a steady diet of fiction novels, sci-fi movies, Disney, and a lot of love from family and friends, my imagination was constantly fueled.

my first introduction to improving people’s experiences started through user manuals.

I know it sounds odd, but it’s true. I had a strange fascination with user manuals. No matter how big or thick, I read them from front to back. This stemmed from my need to understand how things work. I felt like a superhero when I helped my family and friends figure out how to use something.

my love for reading paved my path to graphic design.

I would read about some beautiful landscape described in a novel and try to imagine how it must look. A few months later, I was downloading Photoshop. I spent countless hours reading and designing, blending my love for storytelling with visual creativity.

a brief moment as an author

Reading took me to different internet forums where people discussed books. Fanfiction communities eventually led me to Wattpad, where I read, designed book covers, and even wrote a book or two. One of them garnered over 10K reads. No, I’m not sharing the book, but it was an exciting chapter of my journey.

I pursued computer science and engineering for my undergraduate degree.

During my undergrad, I discovered a new passion for physical prototyping. I spent hours in the electronics lab, bringing digital ideas to life. One notable project was developing a troupe tracking system to improve navigation in GPS-inaccessible areas, creating a safer environment for operations.

leading design for tech-fest

I led the design and content team for the college tech fest, managing a team of 30+ people. We created deliverables for all physical and digital content needs, honing my leadership and creative skills.

discovering product design

While working as a software developer, I discovered product design. I began questioning the 'why' behind things and realized the importance of design in shaping product experiences. I immersed myself in learning about UX and product design, seizing every opportunity to gain new skills — from volunteering roles to internships. This led me to bag my first role as a product designer at SproutClass — an ed-tech startup.

i decided to pursue a masters degree in human computer interaction

To build a strong foundation in design principles and processes, I pursued formal education in design. My time at Indiana University also included business courses from the Kelley School of Business, helping me understand how design impacts business outcomes and drives product strategy.

4 years and counting

It’s been over 4 years since I entered the field of design, and I’ve enjoyed every day of it. I’ve led exciting projects, created significant impacts for many users, and collaborated with talented people from diverse backgrounds.
